The short version. Connectio doesn’t need an account, doesn’t show ads, doesn’t track you across other apps and websites, and doesn’t sell your data. We don’t record your calls. We keep only the small amount of information needed to run a meeting.
1. Who we are
Connectio (“we”, “us”) is a video meeting app for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains how the app and this website handle information. You can reach us at ddeco932@gmail.com or through the contact page.
2. What we collect
We designed Connectio to collect as little as possible. There is no sign-up, so we don’t collect an email address, phone number, contacts or location.
| Information | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Display name you type when joining | So others in the meeting can see who you are | Sent to our server and shared with participants of that meeting |
| Meeting name, meeting code, host key (hashed) when you create a meeting | To create the room and let only the host act as host | Stored on our server (see retention) |
| Audio and video while you are in a meeting and your mic or camera is on | To carry the call | Streamed in real time to other participants through Cloudflare. We don’t record or store it |
| Chat messages you send in a meeting | To deliver them to participants | Delivered through Cloudflare’s real-time service. Connectio keeps no copy |
| IP address of your request | Abuse prevention (rate limiting) | Only a one-way hash is stored, for up to about an hour, and is never linked to a meeting or name |
| Reports you submit about a participant | To review abuse and keep meetings safe | Meeting code, the reported name, a reason, and a timestamp |
| Messages you send us by email or the contact form | To reply | Our email inbox |
We don’t use advertising identifiers, analytics SDKs or third-party trackers in the app. The app does not track you as defined by Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework.
3. What stays on your device
Your name, your list of recent and scheduled meetings (including the host key for meetings you created), your blocked list and your preferences are stored only on your device. You can erase them at any time from Settings → Erase data on this device, or by deleting the app. Scheduled-meeting reminders are local notifications created on your device. They don’t pass through our servers.
4. Calls, video and chat
Connectio uses Cloudflare RealtimeKit to carry audio, video and chat between participants. Media is encrypted in transit. We don’t claim end-to-end encryption: Cloudflare’s infrastructure relays the media between participants. Connectio does not record calls. People you meet with can see and hear what you share, and could capture it on their own device, so only join meetings with people you trust.
5. How we use information
- To create meetings, let people join them, and run calls and chat.
- To prevent abuse and keep the service available (rate limiting, reviewing reports).
- To answer your messages and provide support.
- To meet legal obligations.
We don’t use your information for advertising or sell it, and we don’t build profiles about you.
6. Who we share it with
- Other participants in your meeting see your name and receive your audio, video and messages.
- Cloudflare, Inc. hosts our API and provides the real-time calling infrastructure, and processes data on our behalf. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
- Apple processes subscription purchases through the App Store. We never receive your payment details.
- Authorities, when legally required or to protect people from serious harm.
7. How long we keep it
- Meeting records (name, hashed host key, internal meeting ID): up to 30 days after creation, then deleted automatically.
- Rate-limit counters (hashed IP): about one hour.
- Abuse reports: up to 90 days.
- Emails to us: as long as needed to help you, then deleted on request.
- Audio, video and chat: not stored by Connectio.
8. Permissions
Connectio asks for your camera and microphone when you first turn them on, and for notifications only if you schedule a meeting reminder. You can change these at any time in iOS Settings. If you decline the camera you can still join with audio only.
9. Purchases
Connectio Plus is an auto-renewing subscription bought through your Apple Account. Apple handles payment and billing. We check subscription status on your device through StoreKit to unlock Plus features and don’t receive your name, card or Apple Account details.
10. Your choices and rights
Because we hold very little about you, most choices are in the app: leave a meeting, switch your mic and camera off, erase local data, or delete the app. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, or California) you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the information we hold about you, and to object to or complain about how it is handled. To exercise a right, contact us. Since we don’t keep accounts, we may ask for a meeting code and your display name to find a record.
11. Children
Connectio is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we’ll delete the relevant data.
12. Security
All traffic between the app and our servers uses HTTPS. Meeting links are random and hard to guess, participants receive short-lived tokens that are valid for one meeting, and host privileges require a secret key that is stored on our server only as a hash. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
13. International transfers
Cloudflare operates a global network, so your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
14. Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We’ll change the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or on this page before they take effect.
